The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off with hosts Qatar and Ecuador making their debut in the competition on November 20th.
The pair are classified as underdogs to reach the knockout rounds while Group A heavyweights Senegal and the Netherlands go head-to-head in Doha 24 hours later.
Senegal are taking part in the World Cup after securing their maiden Africa Cup of Nations title in 2021. Meanwhile, the Oranje are trying to make up for lost time after missing the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The prospect of Senegal looking to improve on their place in the 2002 quarter-finals, uncharted territory for Qatar at a World Cup, Ecuador back from their own World Cup absence and a resurgent Dutch side make for many twists and turns as we wait and see what happens in Group A.
