The show is about according to Netflix “Otis Milburn, a socially awkward high school student who lives with his sex therapist, Jean.” The British comedy follows a group of students, parents and staff at Moordale Secondary School. The cast includes Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, Gillian Anderson, Connor Swindells, Ncuti Gatwa, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene and Aimee Lou Wood.

The first season was released in January 2019 and the second in January 2020. While Season 3 has been pushed back to September 2021 due to the pandemic, It is possible that they will return to their original January release schedule for Season 4.

What is Season 4 of Sexual Education about?

The official synopsis reads:

“Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier – their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, while Eric prays they won’t be losers again. But Cavendish is a culture shock for all Moordale students – they thought they were progressive, but this new college is on another level. Over in the US, Maeve is living her dream at the prestigious Wallace University and is tutored by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis lusts after her as he adjusts to not being an only child at home or the only therapist on campus.”

It’s sure to be a different season with a new setting for our beloved characters. Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Aimee Gibbs on the show, said “The characters feel like they’re in very new territory because they literally are, they’re in a new school. Also, a lot of our feeling that we’re slightly off-center is actually just because of what’s happening in the story, which is because they are [at] a new school.”

Are there any cast changes for Season 4?

The cast will definitely be shaken up for Season 4. This is definitely natural as the show revolves around a group of young people which means people will come out of the show. Simone Ashley won’t be returning as Olivia, perhaps because she’s tied to another Netflix show now. Bridgeton.

Patricia Allison and Tanya Reynolds will not be returning, as Ola and Lily and Rakhee Thakrar will also not be returning as teacher Emily.

Emma Mackey, who plays Maeve, will have one smaller role in season four when her character has moved to the United States. Mackey had a role in Kenneth Branagh’s this year Death on the Nile and is the title role in the upcoming February release Emily. Perhaps this reduced role leaves her more time for film projects.

An exciting addition to the show has already been announced on the Netflix UK & Ireland account. Dan Levy, known for playing David Schott’s Creek Alongside his father, Eugene Levy, Mr. Molloy joins the team as a teacher. Other new additions to the cast include: Reda Elazouar, Thaddea Graham, Alexandra James, Anthony Lexa, Bella Maclean, Felix Mufti, Marie Reuther and Imani Yahshua.
