Prodigy Season 1 Vol. 1 Gets Blu-ray & DVD Release Date

Nickelodeon’s motley crew of alien adventurers is coming home next year. Season 1 Volume 1 of the animated series Star Trek: Child Prodigy will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on January 3rd, bringing ten episodes of space fun for Trekkies of all ages. The pack also offers never-before-seen insights into the series through a collection of exclusive bonus content and cards featuring keyframes from across the show.


As a first for the franchise Star Trek: Child Prodigy is for youngsters as it follows a young group of misfits as they command the abandoned Starfleet ship the USS Protostar and learn what it means to be a team while learning how to navigate the galaxy. With no knowledge of the ship and only aiming to find a better future, the six members embark on adventures that will have them confront a cosmic collision and many new planets while growing as responsible, competent space travelers and more learn the ideals of Starfleet. In the first ten episodes, they escape from the prison colony of Tars Lamora with their warden, The Diviner, hot on their heels.

Wonder is run by a talented crew of Brett Grey as Dal, Ella Purell as Gwyn, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Jason Mantazoukas how Jankom Pog, Angus Imrie as zero and Dee Bradley Baker as murf. To help you understand the ins and outs of jointly commanding a Starfleet ship, Kate Mulgrew she repeats Star Trek: Voyager Role as Captain Janeway, both in hologram form, who brings her extensive knowledge of the ship to the table, and Admiral Janeway, who is looking for a dear friend. She’s not the only one Traveller alum on board the series as Robert Beltran also returns as Chakotay.

Kevin and Dan Hageman created the series and are already primed for another season together as the show was renewed late last year. Featuring great worldbuilding, stunning CGI animation and an adventurous, suspenseful story with a younger crew than ever in the franchise, Wonder was a huge hit for Paramount+ and Nickelodeon and was even nominated for Outstanding Animated Series at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards. Speaking to the creators in February, Collider announced that writing for Season 2 was nearing completion, laying the groundwork for a smooth continuation of the series in a new arc after the conclusion of Season 1.

That Star Trek: Child Prodigy Season 1 Volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD will allow fans to relive those first ten adventures for $17.99 just after the New Year. The Nickelodeon series is also currently streaming on Paramount+ with the remaining episodes of Season 1 Volume 2 still being released at the time of writing.
